A little girl named Emma, who was good at painting but very shy.  She has a rug which was just like her friend.  She sometimes stare at it for a long time.  She love the rug very much!  One day her mother thought the rug was really dirty and threw it in washing machine.  When Emma found her rug became clean, she was angry and sad and cried out.  She threw all her paintings and awards and even her rug!  From then on, she grew up and never need any rug.

Reflection

When I read the book, I thought of myself in my childhood.  Because I liked painting and had a rug, too!  Wherever I went, I always brought my rug with me.  I couldn’t believe if I hadn’t have the rug in my life until the naughty boy laughed at me.  I was angry and embarrass when he took my rug away in front of the class.  From that time, I had never brought it to any places .  Although the rug was still in my home, I hadn’t relied on it any more.  I thought I was as independent as Emma was.
